Tree in Graveyard Fields on the Blue Ridge Parkway in late Fall

Graveyard Fields on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina is one of the most populer places to visit and hike in Western North Carolina. The location draws its name from a windstorm a long time ago  that toppled trees, leaving stumps that resembled tombstones. A fire in 1925 destroyed the remaining stumps. At the upper end of Graveyard Fields is Upper Yellowstone Falls, a 50′ waterfall. If you are adventurous you’ll also find abundant  blueberries in late Summer and early Fall.
